Teach your children that it's nice to be nice.
I like this video. There was a month's worth of preparation for just this one day, for one person (and, sure, the rest of the world too, if we're going to consider that it's also an advertisement, but still -- it was REALLY nice for this guy that they did this for).
Be nice, just to be nice -- not just because you'll get paid to do it, or because you'll get rich and famous.
